Horseshoe Casino Baltimore
After more than two years of planning, collaboration and construction, the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore opened its doors to the public on August 26, 2014. The event began with a star-studded private event attended by a “who’s who” list of Baltimore’s most influential citizens, with performances by legendary Motown artist Gladys Knight, rap diva Iggy Azalea and “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D. Scantily clad show girls posed on the red carpet in feathered headdresses; aerial silks performers poured champagne, and fireworks thundered overhead as a three-story banner unfurled on the casino’s parking garage reading, “Baltimore, it’s your lucky day.”
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, developed by Caesars Entertainment Corp., in partnership with Detroit-based Rock Gaming, is designed to extend the city’s tourism district south from the famed Inner Harbor and neighboring sports venues M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The casino offers 122,000 square feet of entertainment space, with 2,500 video lottery terminals, 100 table games, and a 25-table World Series of Poker-branded poker room. The entertainment complex features a variety of nightlife options such as 14forty, a 24 hour multi-level entertainment venues, and a large open plaza. Eateries include the Horseshoe-themed Jack Binion’s Steakhouse and two specialty restaurants – one from television personality Guy Fieri, the other co-managed by celebrity chefs Johnny Besh and Aaron Sanchez.
Royal Contract Lighting was commissioned to produce custom-designed fixtures for three spaces within the casino complex: the 25-table Poker Room, Jack Binion’s Steak, and Johnny Sanchez restaurant. The fixtures were designed by the Las Vegas division of the Friedmutter Group, an award winning, internationally recognized architecture, interior design and master planning firm.

Our 12 custom chandeliers for Jack Binion’s Steak, an upscale steakhouse, feature large metal tier balls, semi-translucent tapered shades in a customer-supplied imported Turkish red fabric, and crystals at the bottom in gradients of deep red to clear.
Royal Contract provided all of the custom lighting for Johnny Sanchez restaurant. Above, fourteen 33″ custom metal pendants in a copper finish with a laser-cut square design pattern create a focal point at the bar.
